Staying Neutral?
When we think of color for sheer shades, we typically focus on just the sheers. But with Silhouette Shade features, you’ll get to customize by selecting the color of the fabric vanes too.
At Window Fashions of Texas, we offer a beautiful selection of fabrics including neutrals. Sometimes a dark color or bold look is the best way to go.
Choose Open or Closed
Remember with Silhouette Sheer Shades the solid vanes are visible and you choose how to position them. There are two ways: Open & closed. Choosing the open position allows for light to enter through the sheers and provide a beautiful view to the outdoors. Second, the closed position. This way the shades still provide a glowing light around the window, but direct sun is blocked and so is the view outdoors. The choice is yours, but usually depends on your home. For this, you should evaluate the location of the windows, the privacy you need, and how much glare comes through your windows.
However, there is one more option that may be right for you. The latest innovation is called Halo. You can choose to tilt the vanes upward–directing light toward the ceiling. This position allows illumination, while still maintaining privacy. Just another one of Silhouette Shade features available to you.

Just when you thought the decision making was over, we have one more choice to make. Sheer shades now come in two offerings. First, the long standing traditional sheers, that have softened incoming light for decades, while offering a hazy view outdoors. Plenty of clients still prefer this look today.
Next, is ClearView® offering a clear, crisp look outdoors. It’s all in the fabric choice, but we think of it as magic.

Situationship: Doors and Windows
Oftentimes, homes feature doors and windows within the same shared space. Is this an impossible situation? Not at all. We can work through it with Silhouettes. Remember–with Silhouette Shade features, you always have options, and in the case of windows and doors, it’s not different. Silhouettes cover windows beautifully but can also cover French doors, sliders and patio doors alike.
Before making a final decision, consider orientation. We suggest adding a combination of Silhouette Sheers and vertical Luminette®Privacy Sheers for the sliding doors. You can choose matching fabrics for a uniform look, but everything moves the way it needs to.
